Can I buy your creams in bigger pots? - Back to Top
Our products are all handmade and fresh. Unlike most companies, we do not keep a large stock of products. Nor do we make heavy use of preservatives - we just use the minimum that is necessary.
For this reason, we sell our creams in smaller pots, so that the product will remain fresh for as long as you need! If you would like a cream in a larger pot, just ask - we will try our best to accommodate.
Do you produce all products yourself? - Back to Top
Yes, all products are produced by us using natural, locally-sourced ingredients and traditional methods.
Do you use pomace grade olive oil to make your soap? - Back to Top
Never. Although most soap makers use pomace grade oil to make soap, we use our own Yunquera Gold olive oil. The same oil we sell and use ourselves.
We wouldn't consider eating pomace, so why use it on your face and body?
Do you use preservatives and chemicals in your products? - Back to Top
We do use a preservative in our face, body and eye creams - this is necessary to prevent harmful bacteria from spoiling the creams. However, as our creams are made fresh and to order, we can use as little as possible! Our preservative is paraben and urea free and has been approved
worldwide.
We also use an emulsifier to amalgamate and thicken our creams. Our emulsifier is a natural, olive-based preservative. It is naturally derived from
olive oil and offers superb skin-feel. It is ECOCERT approved.
Do your products comply with current cosmetics regulations? - Back to Top
Yes, of course. All the formulas have been tested and
approved by an independent cosmetics chemist and comply with
the
Cosmetic Products (Safety) Regulations 2004 9(1)(d).
What are parabens, and why should I care about them? - Back to Top
"Parabens" are chemicals used as preservatives in most products such as creams, shampoos, deoderants, and so on. They have been unofficially linked with cancer, but there has been no official conclusion from the FDA or other organisations.
For that reason, many people who make handmade soaps and cosmetics prefer not to use them. My own approach is to use them only in products where it is absolutely necessary (i.e. the eye cream, as it is essential not to have microbes near the eye).
What is your shipping policy? - Back to Top
Currently, we only ship to EU countries and the US. If you live elsewhere, and wish to purchase our products, please contact us for more information.
We agree to ship within 5 business days, using the most economic method possible. If you wish your items to be delivered more quickly, contact us before ordering, and we can give you a cost estimate.
Where are you based? - Back to Top
We are based in Spain, and live on a 22 acre olive farm on the top of a mountain, inland Andalucia.
Will your soap lather well in hard water? - Back to Top
Of course! We test all products ourselves, and have found the soap to lather very well in our own water, which is extremely hard.
